Quietness of Mind — Part One

Image
Are you fond of worrying and complaining about your situation? Do you beat yourself for the mistakes you've made and the guilt of what you didn't do right is hunting you? Are you prone to uttering unpleasant words during a misunderstanding? If yes, close your eyes, take all the worries off your mind and smile. This piece is for you. Kindly read on. John 14:27 (ICB) says “I leave you peace. My peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world does. So don’t let your hearts be troubled. Don’t be afraid. "So don't let your hearts be troubled". One beautiful virtue a peaceful individual should possess is quietness of mind because it's a good way to stay out of trouble either within or without. Whether you are dealing with some personal challenges or you have issues getting along with someone, one thing you shouldn't lose is the tranquility of your mind. As a matter of fact, when your mind is in order, your words will...

MY OIL DRIPS

Five years ago, I took the risk of walking away from my former relationship.  I called it a big risk because this was a relationship of six years (friendship + the actual relationship).  This was a relationship I poured out ALL of me into building. I am yet to get over certain sacrifices even after five good years.  The things I experienced and endured in that relationship were beyond me. I was literally dying. This part is not for today.  On the outside, people were coveting our relationship. It looked so perfect, beautiful and peaceful on the outside, but on the inside, I was struggling to breathe. So, five years ago, on a Sunday, 5th Jan, 2020 precisely, in the middle of a church service, I picked up my phone and composed the break-up message.  The message I typed that day, I'm convinced it was not I who typed it. God must have possessed me.  I can't put it word for word, but I can paraphrase the message I sent.  "If we want to really please God and...

SOCIAL MEDIA STORIES SHOULD NOT TOSS YOU HERE AND THERE

All success stories should not toss you here and there. social media is a home of all forms of temptations. " 𝙄𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙩 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙡𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙙 𝙨𝙤𝙖𝙥 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙇𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙣𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙨 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚. This would be a long read, but if you can read to the end, I bet you won't regret making such sacrifice.  Yesterday, I came across the beautiful story of a young man who quit his medical profession as a medical doctor at the age of 28 to go into farming, and is now a successful commercial poultry owner. The ne...

NOT A BADGE OF POVERTY!

Image
Many people, teachers especially (since they are my target audience) think that my mantra of "The teaching profession is not a badge of poverty" stemmed from the fact that I have lots of money, or I do not have needs, sometimes.  Here is a disclaimer. IT IS NOT EXACTLY SO.....😀😀 In fact, I am not yet close to it at all. But, you see, the truth is that, in my career journey, I have gotten to that point where I understand that what makes you poor is not the current money or cash that you have at hand or in your bank account.  This is my own belief - No matter how hopeless your situation seems at this minute, as long as you have or possess what it takes to be rich, then, you are not poor! All you need is determination and diligence, to explore and nurture that which you have, unto fruitfulness.  Besides, my experience so far is a testament to the fact that we are meant to call those things that be not, as though they were.  You cannot manifest beyond what you belief. ...

GOSH! OUR TEACHER IS BED-WETTING!!! 😃😃

Image
I am sure these are the words on the lips of the students in my school at the moment. I thought to share this amazing experience with you. My life has taken a total turnaround ever since I started the bed-wetting advocacy journey in 2021. I have shared my story both with the young and the old. Streets, parks, religious places, and schools have all been my places of contact with people. I have gone from schools to schools to talk to and educate students of different age groups on the topic of ENURESIS (Bed-wetting), using my own bed-wetting story as a connecting tool. For some time now, I have been looking forward to a time I could address the whole population of my workplace, especially the students, in order to enlighten them on the condition. But that time has still not come. However, something amazing has been going on for about two weeks now....😃😃 Somehow, the students got to know about my bed-wetting story, and a whole lot of drama has been going on among them ever since. And, b...

My Constipation and Bloating Story

Image
Many people who are close to me are often surprised at how little I eat and how I'm able to skip meals without being bothered or feeling the hunger.  Sometimes when I've not eaten during the day, I would forget I've not had any food. Sometimes, I also get easily engrossed with my hobbies (studying, reading or writing) or attending to some of my advocacy works, that I would forget about food.  Besides, I am not really a lunch person. Breakfast and dinner are my major meals and I take them lightly. I have come to a point in my life where I eat a very minute portion of food. For instance, if I have a 1kg Semovita pack, I am likely to make the Semovita eight different times, before I will be able to finish it. That is how little my stomach can take.   If I need to make rice, just one cup (milk tin) is enough for me to be satisfied.  But, have I always been like this? The answer is a capital NO....  I've not always been like this. This was not the Tolu many year...

Teenagers in Marital Relationship

Image
Speaking to teenagers, especially. Relationship is a big responsibility on its own. If you take it up at the wrong time, you may end up with an obscured vision and that may rob you the ability to unleash the potentials you have inside of you.  In your teen years, the most rational thing to do is to keep discovering yourself and building the capacity to bear the responsibilities that would come with relationship, later in life.  You can't afford to go into a relationship, unprepared.  Every individual has a purpose to fulfil. You carry a lot of values in you that must be explored. Marriage is not a purpose . So as a teen, that should not be your first concern or priority, in life. There is no point rushing it.  Take time to discover your purpose on earth. This ought to be your greatest concern, especially as a teen or a young adult.  A well-lived and fruitful life begins with self accomplishments and purpose fulfilment, not with marriage.  The teen years mak...
