SOCIAL MEDIA STORIES SHOULD NOT TOSS YOU HERE AND THERE

All success stories should not toss you here and there. social media is a home of all forms of temptations.

This would be a long read, but if you can read to the end, I bet you won't regret making such sacrifice.

Yesterday, I came across the beautiful story of a young man who quit his medical profession as a medical doctor at the age of 28 to go into farming, and is now a successful commercial poultry owner. The new path has opened him up to such global visibility his medical profession would probably not have given him.

I found the story thrilling and highly encouraging. I searched for the guy on almost all social media platforms to know better about his story. That's what I do anyway. Whenever I come across a beautiful success story, I want to find every means to know a few things about the person and possibly pick something that can get me going ON MY OWN JOURNEY. Emphasis on "On my own journey"

I equally have a friend who was thriving in his profession. He is a Master's degree holder in Sports Psychology. Some three years ago, he quit his job/profession and went fully into mechanized farming. Today, his success on the new path is incomparable with what he previously had in his profession.

That brings me to write on STABILITY. If there is one attribute that should be added to the long list of what a person who is willing to succeed should do, it should  be STABILITY.

Having a mind of your own is an ingredient tof success..

You see, if you are not a stable and strong-willed person, several success stories on social media can toss you here and there. You will dabble into everything and anything each time you read that someone succeeds in such.

While it is true that we can get inspired and motivated by other people's story, it is also important to know that not all success stories should change your focus or put an end to your own peculiar journey.

It could look attractive and unusual, it could appear golden and worth trying but it might not be for you to venture into. Social media is a home of several temptations. Dabbling into this and that every time will not give you any good success.

And if at all it is truly in your destiny to quit your current pursuit to chase what you just found someone doing or something similar, you have to be very sensitive and highly discerning to be sure that you really need to change your journey. It is not something you just do at IMPULSE, else, regret would come knocking.

No doubts, people have new dreams. Ambition changes. Career path changes. Anything can happen. But, whatever you do, be sure to not just jump into a new journey without counting the cost in terms of diligence and passion.

It is not enough to see a beautiful story. Being thrilled by the narrative is not enough to leave your chosen path. Learn to tame your emotions. Learn to be in control. Being ambitiously disciplined is something that should be taught to young people.

Lots of time, we forget to apply the simple basic principles of success into what we do and that's why we struggle to breakthrough. That's why we see it as if there is magic in what other people do.

Diligence is key. Discipline is important. Optimism is indisputable. Resilience and Enduring spirit are very pivotal. Networking is great. Good communication skill is not excluded. Recording and accountability are quite important.

There is no magic anywhere. People who succeed only apply these simple rules. If you can faithfully apply them too, you just will have a similar result in your journey.

It is not every time you come across the story of someone who quit Engineering to sell liquid soap and perfumes and is successful that you have to change your own career from Lecturing to selling snacks online. You may combine, but you may not necessarily need to quit your profession.

Some days would be hard. Some days would not look like where you are going at all. But it doesn't ALWAYS mean there is no hope at all or there is no light at the end of the tunnel. I tell you, if you can persevere and do your due diligence in your sowing season, your harvest season will give you a sweet experience.

And maybe you don't know, those who quit to do something different have their stories too. That transition alone comes with its own challenges. Seat them down and enquire from them, you will realize that it is not easy anywhere.

I'm certain there would be days they run into losses, days of challenges that appear insurmountable, but they held onto why they started in the first place and continued to be optimistic. They kept believing. This is a basic principle that you should apply in whatever you do. It is not until you change your career.

Don't drift away because you are in your sowing season. Your harvest season might just be very close at the time you want to drift away. Don't lose the rewards for all your years of toiling.

PS: I really do hope I have put a good balance to this article because I know some commenters usually don't see balance. They are always in a hurry to attack. Before you attack, I will advise you get back to the beginning and read carefully the second time to see all the points that put balance to this article.
